How to be self motivated and successful
Self motivation means that you are motivating yourself, however one of the challenges of self motivation is not letting it be taken away by other emotions that may get in the way. When some other emotion becomes present it can push your self motivation away, and then you may find that finishing a project, or moving forward becomes difficult. I always say to people that to be motivated they must have a strong why. A reason to keep going when motivation starts to drop or another emotion gets in the way. What ever motivates has to be strong enough to keep you moving forward not matter what happens.
What exactly is Motivation?
Motivation in broad terms is the ability to keep going at a project, idea, relationship or job. It’s the “something” that keeps you on track to get to where you want to be. For many they seek motivation from others. This can be in the form of praise from a family member, a work colleague or a friend, pushing you a little more to achieve more in your life. Maybe it’s something that happened to you that pushes you further to achieve something.
All of the above are know as external motivators. They are things that we do not control so to speak that may motivate a person.
Although good, sometimes external motivators may run their course. You leave a job, fall out with someone, move to another country. Then what happens to the external motivation? It may be lost. It is much better, therefore, if you can find the motivation from within you.
However with motivation we have to be aware of …
The destroyers of motivation…
There are times when people struggle to get motivated. They just find that they can’t get going; they can’t move forward or don’t want to move forward. But why does this happen?
Let’s look at a few reasons:
Disillusionment – you become disillusioned about a situation, relationship or a project. The fire is no longer there, you just feel like what the heck why even bother.
Fears – sometimes a fear of failure or a fear of success can de-motivate you. You try a new system, or start a new project and then you don’t get the results you expected and you feel de-motivated.
The inner voice – our own self critic may be responsible. We discourage ourselves out of the project or idea. The critic within us tells us it will not succeed. It won’t work.
Lack of belief – sometimes we don’t believe in your true self worth. We don’t think that we can succeed or finish the project, continue in a relationship etc.
Not learning from past mistakes – maybe you tried to succeed before and failed. Rather than examine that failure you decide that you can’t succeed and then don’t have the motivation to move forward.
So how do you get motivated?
Well try some of the following strategies that I have put together:
Know your goals. So what exactly do you want to achieve? If you don’t know what you want to achieve how can you be motivated? If you don’t know what it is you want you’re never going to know how much further you need to move in order to achieve the goal. When you set a goal have a why that allows you to keep on moving when the going gets tough.
Become inspired. Look around you and take inspiration from that father walking down and laughing with his daughter, or that older couple still holding hands. What about the two birds playing in a fountain? All of these things should inspire you. When we don’t look for inspiration we won’t find it!
Focus on the good things. It seems as humans that sometimes we focus more on the negative rather than the positive. As the song says “always look on the bright side of life”. So focus on what you have achieved thus far. If you must look at your mistakes take the positive out of them, realise why what happened, happened and learn from that.
See your success. Dream a dream. Allow yourself to see your success. It is often said that the sub conscious can not differentiate between a real event and vividly imagined event. Therefore take time to step into your future success and really see what your success will be like.
These are just some tips and ideas that you can use to help you become more motivated and successful. I’d be interested in hearing your views on this.

I gave https://www.cornbreadhemp.com/products/cbda-oil a prove with a view the first habits, and I’m amazed! They tasted excessive and provided a sanity of calmness and relaxation. My importance melted away, and I slept better too. These gummies are a game-changer for me, and I enthusiastically commend them to anyone seeking spontaneous worry relief and better sleep.
