Creating a new chapter in your life
You know one thing that I know for sure, and you have to realise? It’s kind of simple, but something that we sometimes forget. It’s this – life is full of changes! You have to be ready for change as more often than not change happens out of the blue. Just when you are not expecting it and boom a long comes a change. When change comes your way it is a way to start a new chapter in your life. The thing is most people don’t like change. The fear it because change is different. Change is uncomfortable but you know what? Change will happen whether you like it or not!
Believe me when change happens it is easy to panic a little, to wonder what is going on. When change starts you might feel like you are losing control and you decide to resist the change. This is normal!
In order to embrace this change (and it will happen at some point in your life) you need to have positive strategies to help you to grab the change by the horns and steer it in the direction that you want it to go!
The following strategies are ones that I have used to make changes in my life and help me with the changes that have I have experienced:
Open up your mind. Believe that the outcome of the change will be positive rather than negative. You know what you have been thru other changes so you can get thru this one.Although it may be difficult, think of all of the positive things that can happen from this change. Remember even if things look as if they will be tough, what does not kill you will make you stronger! This new change may help you reach a new goal in your life.
Be courageous. Fear is probably the worst emotion we can feel when we want to make a change. As I said change can be scary but it can render a strong person into a weak person and lower their self esteem. Reread point 1 and realise that when you begin that everything will work out you will become more positive and with this positivity you will be able to conquer your fears (that probably are not real anyway!)Believe in yourself. No matter what the situation is remember the following “I have the inner strength to take on this change and come out the other side a stronger person.”
Step by step. A change when presented to you will seem like a huge event (which it might be). So what you need to do is to step back and see how you can break this change into smaller more manageable steps. It is much easier to overcome things when you step back and realise that you can take all of this step by step.
Feedback Vs Failure. You have been here before at some point in your life. Reflect back on other changes you have had to make. No matter what you had to do, you received feedback. There has been no failure, everything is a learning experience. You can learn from the other changes that have happened in your life. Take the positive from all of this.
Honesty is key. Don’t worry about expressing emotions. If you are scared about the change, talk to someone, don’t keep it bottled up. Share your feelings with someone close to you. Feelings will be there but don’t let them consume you.
Change is happening right now, some changes are bigger than others but don’t fear them. I know you have everything within you that you need in order to overcome any change.
Please let me know how I can help you.
To your success
