How one hour a day can transform your life
1 hour or 60 minutes, can you find that each and every day to do something? Sure you´re busy, so am I but I find one little hour a day to help me focus more and take time for me.
We are living in a crazy world at the moment, all we hear is doom and gloom, the crisis in Europe, unemployment etc. With so much negative information we need time to ourselves. We really do. You need time for you – what some people call down time.
One hour a day gives you time to reflect on the day, what has happened, what you can improve and also to help you with your goals and dreams.
60 minutes a day to yourself let´s you focus on what you want, your goals and dreams and help you create paths to success and getting what you want.
Here´s a few ideas for you …
Cut out an hour of TV. Let´s be honest TV can rob you of a lot of time. So why not turn off the TV and use an hour to have your own time. Think about it the TV will not get you closer to your goal
Reduce the time you spend on the internet. We all know that the internet is a great source of information but it is also a huge time thief! It is very easy to spend at least an hour on emails, another hour on Facebook, and another hour following links, watching videos etc. As you can see there´s easily an hour there that you can use for your own reflection
Get to bed early and get up early! Why not get out of bed earlier? I started doing that and it´s wonderful. The morning time is so peaceful and it gives me time to myself to focus myself for the day.
Go for a walk at lunch. I always go for a walk at lunch time, it allows me 40 minutes to disconnect and take in the wonders of the area where I work.
No news is good news! I used to start my day by watching the news. What a mistake. First thing I was putting into my mind was negative news. That´s no way to start the day. So for 30 days don´t watch the news or read the news. If there´s something important someone will tell you!
Drop some unnecessary after work activities. Maybe you have after work activities that you don´t necessarily need. This could be anything from going out for a coffee or a drink. Also try to reduce any overtime you are doing too.
Cut down on your playtime. Just because you turn off the TV and shut down the internet, make sure you don´t just spend more time on playing video games etc. like I said in another post it´s about moderation. So don´t drop one activity and then do another activity for more time!
What I have outlined above are just some ideas to make sure you have 60 minutes for yourself. However think about this, all you really need to do is to cut off 15 minutes from 4 of the activities above and you have your one hour!
Now that you have an extra hour what are you going to do with this extra time?
Review your day or prepare for the day ahead. If you have the hour to yourself in the evening, then review your day. Ask yourself how did your day go? What did you learn? How could you have made the day better? Could you have made better choices? If you have your hour in the morning, prepare yourself for the day ahead. Think about how this day is going to turn out. Be positive about the day ahead.
Review your goals. In order to make sure you reach your goals you should review them daily. It keeps you focused; it ensures you are on track to reach your goals.
Meditate or practice yoga. If you wish you could also use the time to meditate or practice yoga. This can help ground you and help you focus.
Create a blog or keep a journal. Why not start to write down what you have learned about yourself each day. You will learn so much about yourself and this can be used to make you grow even more. Just one hour a day will change your life in a huge way. Once you have a few entries in your journal or blog you will have a reference “manual” to help you through any tough times you may have in the future.
Allow yourself one hour a day to transform you life – you will soon see the difference it makes
