Thinking positive thoughts each day will allow you to live a more positive life. Given the economic situation it is easy to be overcome by negative thoughts and experiences. Often we engage in negative thoughts with ourselves. It?s important to create and maintain a positive dialogue with yourself to get you through these tough times.
Many people call these thoughts ?positive self talk?. Remember what we say to ourselves effects us. If we use positive self talk it can allow us to reach new heights as a person, overcoming all that stands in your way.
What is Positive Self Talk?
Positive self-talk is the art of responding to negative thoughts that come into your mind each and every day. You know the thoughts only too well: the ones that have you thinking, ?you can?t? instead of ?you can,? or ?it?s too hard? instead of ?you can do it.?
By replacing negative self talk with positive self talk you can make amazing changes. However for some reason we seem to believe the negative rather than the positive.
Here?s an example, have you ever started a new job, and your mind says, ?There?s no way I?m going to fit in here. I don?t deserve this job? ? thinking this sets you up for failure. You can, and must, stop this dialogue in its tracks.
Don’t of let your mind go on and on, dreaming up one disaster after another right up to the moment you?re fired, instead respond with positive thoughts. These positive thoughts are often called positive affirmations.
You and Positive Affirmations
Most of us have had years of experience with negative self talk, so it can be hard to suddenly change to positive self talk. Perhaps you can?t even remember a time when this negative dialogue wasn?t playing in the background of your life.
It can take time to switch from negative thoughts to positive thoughts, however with a little bit of effort and dedicated you can do it. Replace each negative thought with a positive thought, one by one.
You can find many positive affirmations on websites or even in books from your local bookstore.
People often ask me is it as easy to think positively and then positive things happen? I ask them this: Since an early age you?ve had negative thoughts. Perhaps they have led you to where you are in life if you?re not currently happy.
